What is Gold Foil Art?

What is Gold Foil Printing? I get that question, along with blank stares (mostly from men) when I tell them that I make gold foil prints.

So this is gold foil...

I take a heat adhering gold foil and melt it onto black ink. This process creates a gorgeous, gold covering to the entire area where the ink is!

This process can be done on any size, shape and color paper! As long as it can be printed on, it can be gold foiled!

I love gold foiling because it takes an ordinary object and transforms it to an exquisite one!

The process of gold foiling reminds me so much of God's love for us and the relationship that he has or wants to have with us! In Zechariah 13:19, God talks about how, during the tribulation period, He will take some of the surviving Christians  "testing them as if through fire, purifying them like silver, assaying them like gold. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, 'This is my people,' and they will say, 'The LORD is my God.'"  In Job 23:10, Job is referring to some extremely difficult times in his life and is reminded that "But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold."  Gold is constantly used throughout the bible, to teach lessons on hard times and how one will come through the hard time much stronger and purer than before, as long as the seek God through it all. Easier said than done right?  That is kind of how my learning process through this whole time has been. Learning how to make the gold foil prints, looks a whole lot easier than it really is! God has definitely brought me through days and weeks where I almost threw in the towel.  I like to apply my favorite quote for difficult times to this blog today. "Give it to God and go to sleep." To celebrate this first blog entry, and the amazing God who has brought me this far, and will continue to bring me through all the travels and adventures of life, I am offering this quote 50% off the gold foil print! Just head over to my ETSY shop to grab it while it is available.   Use coupon code "BLOG15". This code expires 1/31/15 at midnight or after the first 10 sales! So hurry on over!
